Hannes takes victory in European Supersport with 9th place in World Supersport!
Despite crashing in Superpole and qualifying on the 21st position without a clutch lever Hannes made great race today in World Supersport at Aragon in Spain. He improved his place by 12 places and earned 7 World Championship points with the 9th position in World Supersport. In the European Supersport ranking he took 25 points with the first place finish, making him the leader of European Championship raking.
"The start was good but I should have been more aggressive in the first few laps as I lost time in the first half of the race. I made the race a bit more difficult to myself with the crash in Superpole but I had still plenty of tires left for the last 6 - 7 laps and made good use of them. The bike worked great and the teams' support is superb! I would like to thank everyone for their support! It has been great! Now we focus on Assen to make sure that we will gain more place!" - Hannes
